Extra £1,000 bill for new home information packs Melanie Wright
SELLING your home is an expensive business when you add up what you pay estate agents and solicitors - before you even call in the removal men.

But from next June you will have to fork out another £600 to £1,000 when Home Information Packs (HIPs) come in. By law anyone selling their home will have to provide an HIP. The aim is to provide more upfront information to reduce delays and costs for buyers, as the packs will contain legal information and a mini-survey of the property.
