CONTROVERSIAL home information packs, which will have to be provided by anyone selling a domestic property in England from next summer, are to go on trial in Yorkshire.
The Government is to introduce the system nationwide from June next year but has chosen six areas to test the new arrangements from November 6.
Huddersfield is on that list, alongside Newcastle, Cambridge, Northampton, Bath and Southampton, although the trial packs will be used on a voluntary basis.
The aim is to identify any teething problems so they can be resolved before the scheme becomes a legal obligation.
The aim of the packs is to simplify the house-buying process by presenting all the vital information that buyers need, at the seller's expense.
