The Conservative Party has outlined its plans to help first-time buyers, including voting against the introduction of home information packs when the regulations are laid before parliament in the spring. Caroline Spelman, the party's shadow secretary for the office of the deputy prime minister, said the packs which are designed to speed up the homebuying process will act as a "roadblock to ownership".
