RUTH Kelly could be forced to withdraw plans for homesellers’ information packs over fears of a “catastrophic” impact on house prices. The controversial change, which will cost everyone selling their home up to £600, is due to be imposed in five weeks despite opposition from the housing industry. But Lib Dem and Tory peers have begun secret talks that could deal the Government a humiliating blow and force the Communities Secretary to plan afresh. The move follows warnings from experts who fear the introduction of the Home Information Packs will send the market into a slump after interest rate rises have made buyers nervous.
