'Packs uncertainty stalling agents' spending and planning Print E-mail
Sunday, 10 September 2006
PLANNING and training activity by estate agents in preparation for Home Information Packs has effectively ground to a halt after the Government's announcement that Home Condition Reports will not be mandatory when the Packs come into effect next June.

That is the feeling of Righmove, the portal giant who scrapped plans to be a leading provider of HIPs in the wake of the announcement by Housing Miniister Yvette Cooper. The continued uncertainty makes it very hard for estate agents to plan ahead, says Rightmove's commercial director Miles Shipside, who outlines the company's thoughts ont he future of HIPs in an article linked below. Most seem to be saying they will do nothing and spend nothing until the end of 2006 at the very earliest. Planning and traning activity (by agents) has ground to a halt.
