Slimmed-down home information packs are criticised by peers
The only ones making money out of the Home information packs, are the organisations that sprung up overnight, grossly overcharging the end user up to £3000 to become Domestic energy assessors or DEA qualified.
The course takes anyone with no qualifications in the construction industry, and over night makes them inspectors.
They can clump round you house with no idea of the type of construction your home is or the energy efficiency of the house or flat itself.
And then charge you up £90 for the privilege. As well as making ridicuolous suggestions as to how spending £5000 will improve the efficiency of your home, what a load of rubbish these people really are....
